“Lintjesregen” was published in 2009 by Nieuw Amsterdam Publishers. It was and remains my medicine against the gloom in our world. It encompasses inspiring stories of people dedicating their lives to making our society more beautiful and vibrant. Many people do this every day, often invisibly to the eye, as volunteers, from their jobs, as artists, or through a combination.
The late Minister of State Ruud Lubbers gave wings to “Lintjesregen.” He wrote the foreword see link.
On April 28, 2009, he opened the exhibition “Lintjesregen” at the Kunsthal in Rotterdam – link to announcement card (pdf). The exhibition featured beautiful photos by Jeroen van der Meyde, Cleo Campert and Elma Mansvelder.
That evening on April 28, the exhibition made it to the opening of the NOS Journaal, and for a moment, the sun broke through.
