I was born in Suriname (South America). My roots are Indian and I live in the Netherlands. Reading has always been my passion and my BO2 : Book Oxygen. Ever since I was a little girl my dream was to become a poet. And I have always been a spiritual seeker.
Always on a quest for profound truths. My writing journey began with “Lintjesregen” (published by Nieuw Amsterdam in 2008) and “Azijn in mijn aderen” (published by In de Knipscheer in 2011). However, my life took an unexpected turn in 2021 when a necessary eye surgery during the lockdown rendered my right eye unusable, making both reading and writing tough. Especially alongside a full-time job.
Losing this part of my life left me heartbroken. Yet, amidst this despair, inspiration struck unexpectedly. It felt as though Rumi himself sat by my bedside, whispering exquisite thoughts and poems into my soul. In a mere month, 55 poems graced me, culminating in my first collection, “Divine Ink,” self-published on Amazon . This outpouring of creativity hasn’t ceased since; my upcoming collection, “Indian Sparkles,” explores my Indian heritage, probing questions about my origins, the lives of my ancestors, their joys, and their unique gifts.
I’m super curious about what my journey on my own ‘yellow brick road’ will bring in terms of new poems and thoughts. I promise you, you’ll be the first one I tell.”
